Abstract:
Senate and House leaders indicated that they plan to pass the College Cost Reduction And Access Act (H.R. 2669) today as President Bush withdrew his threat to veto the bill, noting that lawmakers had complied with his request to “significantly increase funding for Pell Grants” when they negotiated the conference report on the bill. NASFAA joined 11 other higher education associations that sent letters to members of the House and Senate expressing support for the legislation and urging members to vote in favor of the bill. This article includes NASFAA’s detailed summary of the provisions in the bill.
